Data Pop
Film Only
The analog photography publishing company, Data Pop, strives to give a voice to up and coming film photographers.
San Diego, California, USA
San Diego photographer Seancarlo Ohlin is the creator of the film collective and photography publishing company, Data Pop. Inspired by brands like Deadbeat Club and Pomegranate Press, Seancarlo wanted to give a similar voice to lesser-known photographers.
“Data Pop features a lot photographers from San Diego as well as the internet friends I’ve made who’s content is absolutely worth viewing,” says Seancarlo. “If you’re a smaller photographer, I want to meet you and put your work in front of photography lovers.”
His own zine, Free Energy, was published through Data Pop and has already sold out.
Along with being a publishing company, Seancarlo is curating photography exhibitions through Data Pop, the first one coming this weekend to San Diego.
His passion for photography and other photographers has motivated him to take Data Pop further. “I eventually want Data Pop to move into books and quarterly magazines,” he says, plotting the future. “I want get into larger publications, throw bigger art shows, and attend any zine fest around the country.”
