While bored in quarantine, Los Angeles based quartet Not From England made video for their latest single, “Jura'“.

Who is “Not From England”? What is your story as a band?
CASS: Not From England is a band, I guess. We all met in middle school except for DeRon. Leo and I started playing music together in music class and met beckett after he filled in for us at a show. We met DeRon through a friend.
You had a lot of big shows lined up before quarantine; how did you all feel in the beginning of quarantine?
LEO: We were really excited for those shows especially for our show at the Teragram Ballroom and the Bootleg Theater as those are two of my favorite venues to see bands. So we were bummed that those shows got cancelled and that we have been unable to do a real show since and haven't even been able to all be together or play together.
Have those feelings changed? How so?
At the same time that we were bummed about being unable to play shows, this time has been a restful break from playing shows so often. In addition, we were able to record a demo for our song Jura and we are getting together a bunch of demos so that we can record a full album for hopefully the near future. This is also the first we were able to try out doing different types of performances, live-streams and acoustic/solo sets.
What did you learn while in quarantine?
LEO: Sounds kinda cheesy, but I've learned how important the process of making something is and although the end result is important as well, people often try to rush past the process of creating music, art, and that can often be the most important part.
What is the story behind the video for "Jura"? How did you come up with the idea and how did you make this happen?
The Jura video was just an act of boredom more or less. We all missed playing so we decided to record a song by sending tracks back and forth. We also wanted to share some new music and us playing "live" since we haven't been able to play any shows and hopefully some people miss us play shows.
What's next for Not From England?
CASS: Hard to tell what’s exactly what's next for us because so many things seems very uncertain, but we’re hoping for shows to be back up in the near future and we are also we’re hoping on working on some more demos and recording some more music maybe even release more quarantine demos in the future.
