Better Days Festival performers Cuddiiies discuss the rock n’ roll scene in their small community of Temecula, what they’ve learned as a band, and their new single, “Los Gatos”.
Los Angeles, California, USA
Who are Cuddiiies and what’s your music about ?
Cuddiiies are a collective of friends and artists. Our music mainly represents different perspectives on how we live our lives individually and the artists who have influenced us.
You are from the small community of Temecula, California - what’s the music scene like? What makes it special and what do you think it needs?
The scene down in Temecula was mainly psych, garage, indie influenced when we came in but as of now it’s pretty bare—but we hope to change that and bring some life back into it.
The few artists that are out here are what really make the scene special to us. Everyone has their own unique sound that stands out. Right now we just need some more people to come out and let loose, vibe a little, and support the scene. Some more venue friendly places would be a better way to showcase more local artists as well.
Since Cuddiiies first started in 2018, what have been some things you have been learning as a band?
As a whole we’ve definitely learned perseverance , commitment, and the ups and downs of being musicians. As well as working together as band members.
Outside of the band and music, what has each member been inspired by?
Individually starting with Mando - He has an interest in the culinary arts and trying new things in life. Brayden is mainly inspired by nature and being surrounded by the outdoors, and Miguel enjoys being with his best friends, the Cuddiiies.
You just released a single, “Los Gatos” - what kind of journey is this song taking us on ?
“Los Gatos” is basically just an introduction to our mobbing lifestyle that we have become accustomed to and continue to this day.
What’s next for Cuddiiies?
As of right now we’re focusing on releasing our music and growing our sound together as a band . More shows as things continue to progress.
