What is your history as a photographer?
I've always been around a photography environment. Being that my dad was a photographer, I always had access to his equipment. It started off with me just playing around with a camera and shooting after school with a couple of friends. Every time I had a shoot or had to edit, I fell in love with it even more and it became my passion. Sooner or later my dad passed down his equipment to me and I realized I wanted to become serious about this. I wanted to find out who I was as a photographer though, so in the summer of 2018 I took a 2 week trip to California. That trip opened my eyes and gave me perspective on how beautiful this world is and how many beautiful people are in it and it made me want to become a lifestyle/ fashion/ portrait photographer After the trip I took to California was when I started calling myself a photographer.
How would you describe your style? Why are you unique?
I feel like I differentiate myself from others because I use a lot of color in my pictures and color coordinate all my work. On my website I have a color for each page and I've never seen a photographer do that which I think is unique. When I plan a shoot I want the photos to capture the audience's eye immediately and that's why I use bright colors in my pictures. I always make sure that the location and the outfits have some sort of similar color scheme to it as well.
Who are your subjects?
My friends and people I've met off social media as well. Living in the city makes it easy for me to find new people and make new connections so it's not really hard to find subjects to shoot.
How has photography changed your perspective on the world?
My perspective on this world has changed completely with photography. Wherever I go or whenever I have a shoot, I always try to admire how beautiful a place is and it makes you appreciate this world more. Being able to travel places and do what you love is a beautiful thing. It opened up my eyes and showed me so many aspects about this world that I couldn't imagine.
What's next for you?
Right now I'm in the process of creating an online store to sell my photo albums, prints, and personal clothing line called "ColorRated". I'm also just trying to build my portfolio and reach it to a bigger audience. Day by day I'm thinking of newer ways to better myself as a photographer and just grow as a business in general.
