“You Said” is the latest single off your EP “Thorns”. What is this song about?
This song is about finally having enough in a relationship and deciding to move on for good.
How does the music video for “You Said” reflect the mood and story of the song?
I feel like the whole video was symbolization of me leaving my toxic relationship.
What was the process like in making the video? How many days, where, who was involved in the story line, etc
It took two days to film and we filmed both days literally from sunrise to sunset. It was in the outskirts of Lucerne Valley at the Ericksen Dry Lake. Eric Foss and Roland Castro were the masterminds behind the whole music video and put together a small crew to help make everything happen. We had Zoom meetings talking about the video and how we wanted it to be done and whatnot but I pretty much gave Eric and Roland the ok to do whatever! So the music video concept and everything is all them! Super grateful to have worked with Not a Serious Human Productions!
How did making this video challenge you as an artist and performer?
I’ve never acted before or have been a part of a production as legit as this before so I had a ton of anxiety around it and it wasn’t automatically my zone of comfort. After this experience though I learned the importance of pushing through comfort zones so you can expand as an artist and just as a human being in general!
What’s next for you ? And the video?
Hopefully we will be shooting the video for “Thorns” soon! Pretty excited about that as well!
